If anyone can help me find a copy of Ishu Patel's "Paradise" (also: "Paradise/Paradis") that would be really appreciated. It's an animated short, and so far I can only find one of his works on the internet, "The Bead Game," and Region 3 DVD collections of his and others' shorts. It's a very beautiful thing.

Been blasting through a lot of songs lately. Getting together with some friends and fleshing them out more, hopefully we can get an album or some shows, it'd be really cool.

Playing bass for Kv, got a couple shows coming up. It's very fun to be playing with those guys, great musicians, great cats.

Had wisdom teeth out. That sucked.

Yeah, not much interesting happening.

slight update
12:21am 15/05/2006
Recording sometime this week, whether or not I can get Casa Haberman studio time or not. New versions of "Turnstile Blues" (formerly the untitled "another love-hate song"), "Eight O'Clock Near a Cliff Somewhere," the incredibly long-titled song ("...You Can Be In My Dreams if I Can Be In Yours...)" and "Move" (formerly "Your Body," from the 2004 album a letter from a friend) are scheduled, as well as new songs: the platypus song, "Route 21," "Arrivals/Departures," "I'm Dragging," "Old Dragonbait," "Missing Dream #1," "A Million Miles (You'd Never Know)," "The Long Black Train," and my own arrangement of the traditional "C.C. Rider."

That's 13 songs, a very lucky number indeed.

Also, I'll be writing songs with teh Hissy, the genius behind Hevad, sometime in the near future, hopefully we can get a few other kids interested in joining us, if only because I'd like a band for some of my songs.

I've just been informed my mom died a short while ago from a motorcycle accident. I've been walking around most of the day knowing she was in the ER, and knowing it probably would not end well. I still couldn't prepare for the absolute shock of knowing that my mom is dead. It's such a fucked up thing.

In the Nick of Time! (LAST SHOW)
09:54pm 25/04/2006
baby baby i was born to boogie
Today was our last show, but Yoni and I did it right. It's been swell bringing you, the listening audience, good music each and every week this semester. Be sure to be on the lookout next semester 'cause Yoni and I aren't looking to leave you kids hanging, not when you're in need of DRASTICALLY NEEDED ROCK!

Check me out next Tuesday, May 2 at 10PM to midnight when I'll be hosting a block of cram jams for all you kids.

Today, we played some live Wilco, and if you liked that song, or like Wilco in general, go on over to their site to catch a Jeff Tweedy solo concert. It's good, Nels Cline shows up for a few songs, a good time all around.

We also broke out Badman, who just rocked BU Central the other night at WTBU Day.

Harlan T. Bobo is a kind of tortured singer-songwriter. Listen to him.

We also reached back to a few weeks ago and played King Vitamin one more time because of the positive feedback we've got about that crazy song of theirs, "Acid & Armageddon."

1. The Raveonettes - "My Tornado"
2. Wilco - "I'm the Man Who Loves You"
3. The Beatles - "Oh, Darling!"
4. The Band - "Slippin' & Slidin'"
5. Howlin' Wolf - "Shake for Me"
6. Harlan T. Bobo -" Too Much Love"
7. Badman - "Heartland"
8. Animal Collective - "Leaf House"
9. Elliot Smith - "In the Lost and Found (Honky Bach)/The Roost"
10. Robert Randolph & the Family Band - "Going in the Right Direction"
11. Albert Ayler -" Everybody's Movin'"

The Li'l Devils
01:45am 13/04/2006
The Li'l Devils. A forthcoming cartoon featuring a small group of youth having fun, in the tradition of the Little Rascals or Dennis the Menace.

Except these kids are evil fucking bastards.

Episode Ideas (and no, I'm not giving away what hillarity ensues)

#FRIENDS TO THE END- One of the gang's classmates comes down with leukemia and, as per class assignment, they have to visit the hospital.

#GRANDPA JOE- The gang visits Grandpa Joe in the old folks home with a special casserole.

#INTRODUCING LI'L FRANCIS- Frank's parents come back from the hospital with his new baby sister.

#THE NEW KID- The new kid in town shows the gang around his dad's butcher shop.

So tell me friends- what's the quickest way to acquire Flash, and learn it?

Please, the inter nets have already made Snakes on a Plane a hit. Why not John Brown on Mars?

reevaluation
11:53pm 20/03/2006
Sarah's been posting about her dreams. Everyone is having weird dreams lately. My roommate has a series of recurring dreams where aliens attack the world and he safely makes it into the subway system of whatever city he's in (Boston or Beijing). The trains end up going across the world and he can do nothing while the earth is being destroyed. Everyone's been talking about their dreams lately.

I've been running in my dreams. Running and running endlessly away from something. That or being tossed in a pool and drowning. Sinking. I don't normally open my eyes underwater. It's just something I don't find natural. But I was tossed in, and I look up and I see myself going toward the bottom, and I accept it. Then I start to kick and swim and try to reach the surface. My head gets heavy and my eyes want to close. I break the surface.

Reevaluation time. I'm not really writing much anymore. I'm not doing much of anything. I can't get a band together. I have terrible stage fright. I'm a film major and for no other reason than the film stuff I've worked on has been fun. I can't see myself actually working in any aspect in the film industry. In fact, when I think of what I'll be doing when I'm out of college, I just kind of draw blanks.

I have midterms and papers and labs and assignments that just pile up while I sit unmotivated. I can't even decide what music I want to listen to anymore. And apparently the paper I thought was due Thursday is due tomorrow. Hurray. Let's look sleeping before my midterm won't happen. The long and protracted internet bitching will have to wait. Good night intar wub.
